Sara Komaiha is a first year at Harvard College who intends to concentrate in biomedical engineering. With a passion for reform, Sara has dedicated a large portion of her time to the Global Alliance for Medical Innovation (GAMI). In this organization, she focuses on advocating against the rising prices of drugs and designing alternative methods of measuring hemoglobin concentration in low-resource countries. Additionally, Sara has involved herself in Harvard’s chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB), an organization that seeks to help underprivileged communities meet their basic needs such as improving access to clean water. As a proud Lebanese-American from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Sara hopes to infuse her own unique ideas in this year’s Arab Conference at Harvard.
