Saba Gul is an MIT-educated engineer turned entrepreneur, working on her next startup in health tech. Previously, Saba was the Founder & CEO of Popinjay, an ethical online retailer for artisan-made products. Popinjay’s supply chain spanned Pakistan, Vietnam & China and its products were sold globally in partnership with prominent fashion labels. Saba is also an active startup mentor, and an investment committee member of i2i Ventures, a seed fund for early-stage enterprises.
Saba has worked as a technologist in Silicon Valley where she led product and design at companies like Oracle and Thomson Reuters. She has lived and worked across the world – from France to Sri Lanka to Ethiopia, and brings her global business acumen to her work.
Saba is a US State Department Generation Change Fellow, and a recipient of the MIT Toyota Scholar Award. She speaks frequently on entrepreneurship and gender at forums like the United Nations, Harvard Business School, MIT, the World Bank and various TEDx events. Saba was raised in Pakistan, and holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science from MIT.
