Ons MAMAI, Is a postdoc follower at Helen Diller comprehensive cancer center (UCSF, San Francisco) graduated from the University of Monastir (Tunisia, 2015) with a Ph.D. in biological sciences and biotechnology. During her Ph.D. project to identify rare genodermatosis implicated genes, she collaborated with international research groups as Pr. M.KOENING at IGBMC (Strasbourg-France) Dr. J. FISCHER at CNG-CEA (Evry-France) and Dr. B. REVERSADE at IMB-A*STAR (Singapore). Her academic training and research experience in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the USA, have provided an excellent background in human genetics and molecular biology and collaboration planning. These experiences have allowed her to develop a comprehensive understanding of molecular signaling pathways, and how gene expression alterations contribute to human disease. She was trained in Human Genetics in Tunisia, and her Ph.D. dedicated to identifying the causative genes of two rare genodermatosis syndromes, with a genetic consulting experience, with Pr. Mohamed Denguezli. She started the post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Rosemary Akhurst: an international expert in TGF-beta signaling in vascular biology and disease, at the University of California San Francisco. She is investigating the molecular nature of genetic modifiers of Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia. In addition to her scientific she active in the YTRB: Young Tunisian Researchers in Biology association, that mainly act to elaborate and enlarge the scientific network and collaborations in North Africa an around the world.
