More about Hazem Elhaddad

Egyptian Orthopedic Surgeon and Health Management Consultant.

Dr. Hazem Elhaddad is an Egyptian orthopedic surgeon and health management consultant. He is mostly interested in humanitarian aid and relief efforts in conflict zones. In 2012, he spent six months in Aleppo, Syria establishing two field hospitals for civilian victims of war. He was also a member of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate team that was sent to Gaza in 2014 to help treat victims of Israeli air strikes.
In 2015, Dr. Haddad joined the Arab Medical Union Hospital in Mogadishu. He created one of the earliest training program for Somalian fresh medical graduates with help of Alliance of International Doctors. Additionally, he was the founding dean of the Anatolian Medical School in Mogadishu; the first internationally accredited medical school in Somalia.
In 2017, Dr. Haddad joined the International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent IFRC to work on the crisis in Mosul. He helped establishing four field surgical hospitals. He is currently working on establishing fellowship training program for arthroscopic and orthopedic surgeries in northern Iraq and at the same time is establishing Trauma training center accredited by European resuscitation Council.
