Dr. Karameh Hawash-Kuemmerle is a clinical pediatric neurologist who specializes in traumatic brain injury and epilepsy. She is an Assistant in Neurology at Boston Children’s Hospital as well as Director of Neurological Outcomes at the Brain Injury Center, a multidisciplinary center coordinating care between the Trauma Center, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Sports Medicine, and Neuropsychology at Boston Children’s. She specializes in Clinical Expertise and Innovation. Her research focuses on mild traumatic brain injury and concussion. She also has an interest in childhood epilepsy and has participated in studies of Rolandic epilepsy genetics and associated cognitive dysfunction.
Dr. Kuemmerle was born and raised in Nablus, Palestine. She completed medical school in Jordan and her residency at the Tufts New England Medical Center.
Dr. Kuemmerle has served on the Boston Palestine Film Festival’s Fundraising Committee since 2012. She is passionate about the festival’s mission and strongly believes that sharing human stories and authentic cultural experiences is an effective way to change hearts and minds.
